Delete your Phraseq account
This page explains how to delete your account for Phraseq (web app and Android/iOS app), operated by Phraseq, and what happens to your data.
Option 1 — Delete it yourself (immediate)
On the web:
- Sign in at phraseq.com.
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Data.
- Select Delete account and confirm.
In the mobile app: open More → Privacy Settings, select Delete my account and confirm.
Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. You will be signed out and the deleted account can no longer be signed in to. If you signed in with Google, only your Phraseq account is deleted — your Google account is not affected. Signing up again later with the same email creates a new, empty account.
Option 2 — Ask us to delete it
If you can't sign in, email [email protected] from the email address linked to your Phraseq account, with the subject “Account deletion request”. We may ask you to confirm the request before deleting the account, and we will reply by email once it has been deleted.
What is deleted
- Your Phraseq account and its sign-in methods (email/password or Google sign-in link)
- Your profile: name, profession, language preferences and streak
- Your profile photo
- Saved words and their example sentences
- Sentence Lab history
- Quiz results
- Daily words
- Conversation practice history
What is not deleted
- Technical logs kept by our hosting and database providers (for example request logs) are retained according to those providers' own log retention and are not removed by account deletion.
- Text previously sent to our AI provider to generate content is handled under that provider's terms; we cannot delete it from their systems.
- Settings stored only on your own device or browser (such as theme) stay there until you clear them or uninstall the app.
Retention
Everything listed under “What is deleted” is removed from Phraseq's live database and file storage immediately when you delete your account. Database backups kept by our database provider may still contain it until those backups expire under the provider's backup schedule. Items listed under “What is not deleted” are kept only for as long as the provider or device keeps them.
Deactivating instead
Deactivating your account (Settings → Privacy & Data → Deactivate) pauses it without deleting anything. Your data is kept until you reactivate by signing in or delete the account.
